I recently had the pleasure of experiencing an outstanding fishing trip with Horizon West Fishing Charters, and I cannot recommend them highly enough! From start to finish, their professionalism and customer service were exceptional.

Scheduling our trip was a breeze, thanks to Jill, who was an absolute delight to work with. She made the entire process seamless, taking care of all the details with a smile and ensuring that everything was perfectly arranged.

Our time on the water was nothing short of phenomenal. Captain Kyle and his expert deckhand, Jackson, truly elevated our experience. Jackson’s meticulous attention to detail and impressive fish identification skills, paired with Kyle’s expert navigation and knowledge of the seas made for an unforgettable adventure. We were thrilled to limit out on two consecutive days—a feat that is not easily achieved! If the weather had cooperated, we might jave limited out a third day!

Additionally, the staff at the lodge and shuttle service were prompt, pleasant, and incredibly helpful in getting us where we needed to be on time. Their attention to customer care truly sets Horizon West apart as a first-class operation.

I am already looking forward to my next visit, and I wholeheartedly recommend Horizon West Fishing Charters to anyone seeking an incredible fishing experience!

Horizon West is constantly putting the customer first. They have great on land staff who are always busy shuttling customers, cleaning rooms to perfection, restocking the refrigerator, and many different duties, all with big smiles. The boat caption and deck hand are very knowledgeable about each species and are constantly taking care of your every need on the boat. Again, all with a smile. Our crew of 6 fishermen, had great luck with many species of fish. I really recommend Horizon West Fishing. You won't be disappointed.

From the welcome at the airport to the transportation of out fish to the gate for the trip home, I could not have anything but praise and thanks for the employees of Horizon West. Our captain, Trevor, and our deck hand, Ryan, were the best. We were able to catch our limit of silver salmon, rockfish and halibut daily. Everyone was prompt, reliable and pleasant. Our sleeping accommodations were always clean, comfortable and very adequate. I recommend Horizon West to anyone considering a well guided fishing trip to Alaska especially if you want to take lots of fish back home to enjoy.

Amazing 3 days with the Horizon West team. The entire crew was fantastic from the airport pickup to our welcome at the dock and everything along the way. What an amazing experience! I cannot say enough great things about our 3 day fishing trip! Our hostesses were so friendly and Captain Trevon and deckhand Bobby were the BEST. They made each day so much fun! Trevon always found where the fish were biting and Bobby worked his magic to keep our lines baited and untangled (which was no easy feat)! We each came home with two full boxes of fish and so many great memories! Big thanks to the entire Horizon West crew!

I recently did a 3 day trip 22-26 August with a group of college classmates and friends. It requuired 2 boats to handle this bunch. The team at Horizon West was excellent! The lodge accommodations surpassed my expectations beyond those I've had elsewhere. Our boat crew (Mark and Jackson) was excellent as well...professional and best of all, they found fish! The land crew (Chloe and Talia) were exceptional throughout the trip. I'm certain there are some other crew members behind the scenes as well that contributed greatly to an overall excellent outing. The admin processes could not have been easier and Jill kept us informed from the the first communication in Nov right up to arrival. Very thorough guidance that led to a very successful experience. Highly recommend this team!

After a long flight our group was greeted with assistance and smiles by Chloe, and Talia, where they transported us to our lodge and provided us with a tour of the facility and our sleeping quarters. Any questions or concerns we had were quickly addressed and rectified.

Our boat crew, Trevin and Bobby were phenomenal!! Knowledgeable, personable, and masters at their craft! I absolutely appreciate that they could provide us direction and joke with us, keeping the time we spend on the boat as memorable and exciting.

Overall this was a great trip and the work that goes into this has been handled gracefully by the Nelson family and their crew of family!

Captain Kyle and Jackson are incredible fisherman and wonderful human beings. Their work ethic and knowledge is something to experience, and they were a downright joy to spend hours on the boat with. This entire operation is world class from top to bottom. They think of, and take care of, absolutely everything for the customer's convenience. It was very obvious how much time and effort they put in on the water to make your fishing hassle free and world class. Every individual from the crew to the transportation drivers and everyone in between was super friendly and helpful, making the entire thing painless. The combination of scenery, number of fish, and customer service is unmatched. What an incredible experience. Don't put it off, go while you can and go with Horizon West!!!!

We can’t say enough about the great experience my guys had with Horizon West. Jill was super helpful and responsive in answering questions and providing information before the trip began. Captain Kyle and deckhand Jackson were above and beyond! They treated my guys like kings and worked nonstop to make sure they got what they came to Alaska for. The whole staff took care of everything so all the guys had to do was show up! The entire staff from the hostess who met them at the airport, to the van drivers, Jackson and Kyle made this a memorable experience. Impressive too was the way the fish were packaged, labeled, boxed and waiting at the airport for them when the trip was over. To hear their stories and see their smiles was worth every penny spent on this father/son fishing trip. One son said he had high expectations but this exceeded them all!

I've known people who have fished with HW for more than 20 years and raved about their experience — from different captains, deck hands, and land crew to their boats (with the latest technology) and processing of your catch. So this year, I put a group together for a 3-day charter and was really impressed. The fishing and crew were awesome. The spirit of the owner, employees, and even guests was so positive and super fun. Very accommodating too. So many returning customers are a sign of a great outfit. Compared to some of the other large lodges, charter, HW is much more personable. But shhh. If too many people find out, it will be harder to book ;-} Highly recommended!
